HPG60-549DX
I'm looking to buy a HPG60-549DX second hand for my daughter for school. The person I will be buying it from put a password on it and has forgotten it. I know it can be reset using F11, but it doesn't seem to work. When we press F11 it just continues on to the login screen. Is there another way it can be reset without having to use the F11 option?

Hi

I was just typing that.

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-g60-500-notebook-pc-series/3999411/model/4064743

So W7 is no longer readily available, you would probably have to buy a recovery media from someone like Computer Surgeons to re-install.

Recovery Kit 588817-001 For HP Model Number G60-549DX   - Price: $27.00

It probably doesn't have a recovery area anymore.

Unless you know HOW2 wipe/reset forgotten a windows 7 password, then please be very wary of hardware problems.

ESC and F2 for a full diagnostic.

Hi

Just to be sure...

PWR on and repeatedly press F11.

Otherwise consider a fresh install of Microsoft Windows or buy a Recovery Media from HP.

What OS is installed?

HP Recommended
Yes, when we power it on we repeatedly press F11 and it continues to log in screen. Someone told me I could press ESC and go to F11 that way and even that doesn't work.
