HP Notebook - 15-ba037cl (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone.

Here's what happened: I decided to factory reset my PC through the HP recovery manager in Windows 10s recovery startup thing. About a few minutes later the bar that shows its progress hadn't moved at all...so I decided to retry by closing it and rebooting my system. When I rebooted my system, I was prompted with the BIOS screen and it said that no boot device was found!

I can generally understand how this happened  as you should probably not interrupt a reset but I couldn't help but find it strange that despite the fact that my FACTORY INSTALLED OS is Windows 10. Obviously, the reset deleted Windows 10 from my PC and right now all I need to know is HOW to carry out the factory reset THROUGH BIOS and WITHOUT using an operating system...essentially, can I factory reset my PC without an OS through BIOS and for the sakes of it I do not want to use installation media to get another OS...

Thanks y'all PLEASE help me!!

Hi:

Unfortunately, that would not be possible, if the F11 recovery option doesn't work.

What is possible however, is for you to create a bootable USB recovery drive with the HP cloud recovery tool that will factory reset your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.   You will need to have access to another PC running W7 64 bit or newer and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the bootable recovery media with.
