Hi:

According to the product specs, the notebook came from HP with Windows 8.1 with Bing 32 bit.

@Otchie

I'm not usurping @Paul_Tikkanen but I'm curious by your comments -- HOW do you know it's NOT Windows?  And, what do you believe it to be?

Upon checking F10 i saw in the lower part of the main option.... its says -- factory installed os across it was "non-windows"..... What does it mean?

F2 said hard drive: not installed

And it just keep on "preparing automatic repair" everytime i turn it on....

I dont know where the root of the problem really is now?

Hi:

I can only go by what the specs for your notebook indicate.

Perhaps the specs are incorrect.

With regard to the follow up information your posted, below is the link to the service manual.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04491166

If you look at chapter 3, page 9, four motherboards were offered.

It sounds to me like your notebook has this one...

Equipped with a 32-GB eMMC hard drive (SoC) and a non-Windows 8 operating system 789310-001

So, either the specs are wrong and your notebook came with FreeDOS, or HP installed the wrong motherboard in your notebook.

Regarding the problem you are having...Sounds to me like the hard drive has died on you, and the problem is the hard drive is an integral part of the motherboard, so in order to repair the problem, the motherboard would have to be replaced.

I would not recommend repairing the notebook and consider it a lost cause.

However, that is your decision and if you decide to repair it, buy one of the motherboards that comes with a Windows 8 product key in the BIOS.

I would recommend this board which as a larger drive...

Equipped with a 64-GB eMMC hard drive (SoC) and the Windows 8 Standard operating system   789311-501
