I installed insta360 camera editing software and my computer has never been the same. How do I do a factory reset. The program was too big and needed additional memory, graphics, ect. I removed the software but my computer has never been the same since the installation. I just want to go back to factory settings.

Hi @ComputerBlast,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand wanting to start fresh when your HP 14-dq0000 hasn’t been the same after installing heavy software. A factory reset will restore your laptop to its original state, removing all apps and personal files, so make sure to back up your data first.

Steps to Factory Reset (Windows 11)

  1. Backup Your Files
    • Use an external drive or cloud storage (OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.).
    • Ensure you have your important documents, photos, and any license keys saved.

  2. Open Reset Settings
    • Click Start → Settings → System → Recovery.
    • Under Recovery options, find Reset this PC.

  3. Choose the Reset Option
    • Click Reset PC.
    • Select:
      • Keep my files (removes apps/settings but keeps personal files), or
      • Remove everything (full factory reset).

  4. Select Reinstallation Method
  5. Confirm and Reset
    • Follow on-screen instructions.
    • Plug in your laptop during the process (it can take 30–60 minutes).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
