@Little-fishy, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
You can factory reset your HP laptop without needing a user ID or password by following these steps:
Using HP Recovery Manager
- Turn off your laptop.
- Turn it back on and repeatedly press the F11 key until the Choose an option screen appears.
- Select Troubleshoot.
- Choose Recovery Manager.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.
Using Windows Recovery Environment
- Turn off your laptop.
- Turn it back on and repeatedly press the Esc key until the Startup Menu appears.
- Select F11 to enter the Windows Recovery Environment.
- Choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything.
- Backup your files before performing a factory reset, as all data will be erased.
- Ensure your laptop is plugged in during the reset process to avoid interruptions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
