Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that you have an OMEN by HP 15-ax250wm Laptop with Win10 and you initiated a full reset. It is stuck on "resetting this PC 41%" for a long time.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What was the initial reason for initiating a full reset?
- Did you disconnect external devices from the laptop before performing a reset? Only the battery and charger must be connected during a reset.
- Are you resetting from the recovery partition on the hard drive or the recovery disks/USB kit?
Meanwhile, you may abort the reset by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys. If the reset process does not abort, then you need to manually power off the laptop.
If the issue persists while resetting the laptop to its factory settings then I suggest you to disable the secure boot option on your laptop. Please refer to the steps mentioned under "Using Secure Boot on newer notebook computers". You may try to perform the reset after the secure boot is disabled.
Also, you may run a hardware test on the hard drive if the issue persists further. The following steps will help:
- Power off the laptop.
-
Turn on the laptop and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
Figure : Selecting Component Tests from the main menu
-
The Component Tests menu displays. Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
Figure : Sample list of Component Tests
- Hard Drive Tests - There are six hard drive tests, and they can take from 10 minutes to 2 hours or more to complete. To run the hard drive tests, follow the steps in Hard Drive Tests.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know what happens. All the best! 🙂

Hi
As it is new I am loathe to offer help that should be covered by warranty.
The above will repair or install a copy of W10, but will not give you the recovery option or drivers.
But this should be what you need to aim for (making a recovery media)...
If in doubt please ask.
