Hello,

I have an HP laptop 14 which I need to factory reset so that it can be given to a new user.

When I go to settings -> reset this PC ->get started -> remove everything

A message comes up saying: There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.

I have updated the laptop as far as possible. It doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to run Windows 11 but is has latest version of Windows 10 on it.

How can I reset the laptop please?

Thanks

Natasha

Hi, Natasha:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will factory reset the notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive.

You can download the HP cloud recovery tool from the Microsoft Store.
