Product: HP Touchsmart 15
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This Laptop was donated to our camp from a church that closed down. We don't know the password and can't get in contact with the person that owned the laptop to get the password. We tried to reset the laptop to factory settings but couldn't because the factory reset option was greyed out. If anyone could help out that would be much appreciated.

Hello @MISSIONMEADOWS 

 

There are several reasons for the desired recovery option to not work such as lack of administrator credentials, corrupted recovery partition, hardware issues, etc.

 

However, note that this option is sort of obsolete nowadays.

 

  • You should reinstall Windows and do a clean vanilla installation of Windows 10. Follow the instructions in the enclosed PDF file below.
