My notebook failed the hard drive short DST check

Failure ID: 9C6C08-9ATA0H-XD7W2K-60RG03

Product ID: 4AQ91EA#ABU

Hard drive 1 - primary HDD bay

Component Test: FAILED

Please what does this mean and what can I do?

Hi:

 

The error code reported means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the hard drive, you can create a bootable recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery client utility.

 

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
