Description
The system BIOS update might fail, which can cause the device to keep shutting down. This issue may arise from incompatibility with the KB5063060 cumulative update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based systems.
Steps to Resolve BIOS Update Failure
Navigate to HP Support Website:
- Visit HP Support.
Find Your Product:
- Enter your serial number or product name, then click "Submit".
Access Drivers:
- Click on "Software, Drivers, and Firmware".
- Select your operating system version and click "Submit".
Download BIOS Update:
- Click the Plus (+) sign to expand "All Drivers".
- Select the "BIOS System Firmware".
- Select the appropriate or the latest version.
- Click the "Download" button to the right.
Installation:
- Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the driver.

Recovering from BIOS Failure
If your system is experiencing continuous shut downs, follow these recovery steps:
Enter BIOS Setup:
- Power on or restart the computer and press F10 to enter the HP Computer Setup (BIOS).
Disable Secure Boot:
- Navigate to Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
- Uncheck the box for Secure Boot.
Save and Reboot:
- Save the settings and reboot the system.
Reset Secure Boot Keys:
- Boot into BIOS (F10), select Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
- Check the box for Reset Secure Boot keys to factory defaults.
- Save settings and reboot the system.
Enable Secure Boot:
- Boot into BIOS (F10), navigate to Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
- Check the box for Secure Boot to enable.
- Save settings and reboot the system.
