I am using hp pavilion 15AY 4gb ram, i3 6gen , but now I upgraded it to i3 7th gen, but when I do memory check now using f2 I am getting memory check failed with failure id 0qc16x 8hqbn9 xd7x7a 40j703
Memory module 2 bottom 2 slot(right)
But the same memory used to work before.
The boot keeps on restarting
Please suggest what I need to do.
Is it due to upgrading the mother board or problem with memory slot

You're very welcome.
Yes, install the memory chip in slot one and see if that resolves the problem.
If the notebook doesn't start with the memory switched to the other slot, you probably have either a defective memory chip or bad motherboard.

Hi:
First run the Windows memory diagnostics test.
If the memory chip is bad, it will generate a report in less than 10 seconds that tells you to contact the PC manufacturer.

I would have to believe that if you get such a report the memory chip failed.
The thing I don't understand is if you have a single memory chip, why is the report indicating the failure is Memory module 2 bottom 2 slot (right).
It should be in the primary slot (slot 1).

Thanks Paul, so you mean if there is only 1 ram stick and the mother board has 2 ram slots then the ram should be inserted in slot 1?
One more thing, I am unable to install new OS as it keeps on failing. So the device does not have any OS installed now(I formatted the c drive to install new)
Moreover now when I switch on the laptop the power led blinks and nothing comes in screen so bios is not getting loaded.
Is it a Ram or ram slot issue or a motherboard issue??
