Hi the community,
while installing Windows 10 on HP EliteBook 840 G3 (Notebook HP - 14 - cf0012dx) using Windows 10 version 2004 english x64 Iso through a usb drive, after a while I get the following message:
Windows can't install the required files. Please make sure all the necessary files for installation are available, then try again. Error code 0x800701B1.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Your installation of Windows but NOT using HP OEM media was a BIG MISTAKE! Why? Because the customer hardware included with HP laptops requires HP drivers for full functionality and the drivers installed from MS media are only generic ones that provide basic functionality.
One or more functions is not going to work properly or at all -- and this will be entirely because the wrong drivers have been installed. As long as you have those drivers, functionality will be missing from the laptop -- so some stuff is not going to work.
The ONLY way to fix this is to install from media created from the HP CLoud Recovery tool.
If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.
The recovery drive can then be used to install Windows and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
You will need a working PC and a 32GB USB stick to hold the recovery files. Here is the link:

You use the Microsoft Store to download the actual tool:

Hi WAWood. Thank you for your suggestion. I tried the HP Cloud Recovery Tool but I think the model of the computer is older than 2016 ones for the PC Id I provided appeared invalid. Is there any other solution for early pcs? Or Is the only solution left to buy a MS original windows copy.
Thinks again for your support.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Sorry, but HP stopped carrying Recover Media years ago and NOW, only offers the Cloud Recovery tool.
If you already have Windows installed, then Here's a video from HP Support about installing and updating HP Support Assistant in Win11:

I know it's for Win11, but it also might work for Win10, and if it does, you can then use HPSA to check with HP for any available driver downloads.
Good Luck
