The fan speed setting on my Omen 15 stopped working. When switched from Auto to Max, the fans do no come on to help cool the computer.  What can be causing this?

Hi @flacohunter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are unable to control the FAN speed on your HP Omen 15 Notebook PC. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 Let's perform a hard reset:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop and check.

Update the BIOS, & Chipset drivers:

ANAND_ANDY,

All the research I did pointed to needing to update the BIOS.  The drivers on my computer were up to date. Thank you for confirming and for providing the steps to do so.  The fan speed feature in the Performance Control setting is now working as usual. Very much appreciate!
