Hello
I work in a hotel and use a program to make electronic card door keys.
This program requires com ports for its operation.
I discovered that Ports (Com & LPT) was missing from Device Manager -therefore the card program will not work.
I used “Add Legacy Hardware” using the setting “install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)
Also Standard Port Types and Communication Port.
Ports (Com & LPT) is now visible in device manager displaying “Communications Port (COM 3) with a yellow error icon.
Properties displays the message “Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34).
This file is obviously missing -how do I reinstall it ?
For obvious reasons I desperately need a quick solution.
Regards
Eflynne
