Hiya!
My 2-in-1 laptop is driving me up the wall at the moment. A few weeks ago I turned it on and it had, for some reason done a complete factory reset. Settings, files etc all gone.
I had the files recovered and then the start bar stopped working. It refused to open most of the time when clicked and then if it did, nothing would open from it when clicked on.
Had the OS removed and reinstalled (upgraded actually) but since then some of the features haven't been working, The main ones I've noticed are:
Screen rotation not working
Volume adjustment not making any difference
Display mirroring not working.
Does anyone have any advice plz or is it time to get a new one? (I was actually considering it before it first reset itself)
I've looked for driver updates etc and apparently everything is up to date.
Cheers!

@LoveCake707, thank you for the update — no worries at all! 😊
It sounds like your laptop’s hardware is still trying to catch up with the Windows 11 upgrade — and I get how frustrating it must feel when core features like screen rotation or volume don’t respond. Let’s try a few hands-on steps to breathe some life back into it:
Roll Back or Reinstall Specific Drivers
Since official Windows 11 support isn’t available for your model, we can try this workaround:
Right-click Start → Device Manager
For each of these devices, try right-clicking and selecting "Update driver" → “Browse my computer” → “Let me pick…” and choose a Windows 10 version if listed:
Display adapters (graphics)
Sensors (for rotation)
Sound, video and game controllers
You can also manually download older Windows 10 drivers from the HP site and install them in compatibility mode:
Right-click the installer → Properties → Compatibility tab → Check “Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10” → Apply.
Enable Sensors and Orientation
Sometimes Windows just needs a nudge:
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Look for Sensor Service and Sensor Monitoring Service.
Make sure both are Running and set to Automatic.
Also check Settings > Display to confirm Rotation lock is off.
Fix Audio Services
If the volume is stuck:
Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar → Sounds
Go to the Playback tab → Select your speaker → Click Properties
Under the Advanced tab, test different formats (like 16-bit, 44100 Hz)
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
