Hi @Mohreenn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The “File: \BCD Error” typically indicates an issue with the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) on your Windows system. This can prevent your computer from booting properly. Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix this issue:

1. Access Advanced Startup Options:

  • If your computer cannot boot, you may need to access the recovery environment:
    • Turn on your computer and interrupt the boot process three times (you can do this by pressing the power button when Windows tries to load).
    • On the fourth start, it should boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).

2. Use Startup Repair:

  • In the recovery menu, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
  • Follow the prompts to see if Windows can fix the issue automatically.

3. Rebuild the BCD:

  • If Startup Repair doesn’t work, you can manually rebuild the BCD:
    1. In the recovery environment, select Command Prompt.
    2. Type the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each:
    3. Restart your computer after executing these commands.

4. Check Disk for Errors:

  • While in the Command Prompt, you can also check for disk errors:
  • Replace C: with the drive letter where Windows is installed if it’s different.

5. System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you might be able to restore your system to a previous state:
    • In the recovery menu, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore and follow the prompts.

6. Reset Your PC:

  • If nothing else works, you can reset your PC, which may result in data loss:
    • In the recovery menu, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC and choose whether to keep your files or remove everything.

7. Reinstall Windows:

  • As a last resort, if all else fails, you can reinstall Windows using a USB recovery drive. Make sure to back up your data if possible.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
