Hi @tcp6,
Thank you for the update. I'm glad to hear that the BIOS installed successfully.
Regarding Firmware - 15.23.0.0 not downloading, this can occasionally happen if the Windows Update servers are temporarily busy, there is a network interruption, or Windows is experiencing a temporary issue while retrieving the update. In most cases, these download issues resolve themselves after some time.
I recommend waiting a little while and then trying Windows Update again by selecting Check for updates. If the update still does not download after a few attempts, please let us know if you receive any error code or message, and we'll be happy to help investigate further.
We look forward to your update.

Hi @tcp6,
Thank you for providing the additional details about your HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg1000 and the firmware update issue.
I understand that Firmware 15.23.0.0 is being offered through Windows Update, but the download stops without showing any error message. I also noticed that your current BIOS version is Insyde F.02 (10/07/2021), which is an older BIOS version for this model.
Before troubleshooting the firmware download further, I recommend updating the BIOS to the latest available version, as BIOS updates can include improvements for system stability, hardware communication, and Windows update compatibility.
You can download the latest BIOS update for your notebook from the HP Support website: HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg1000 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
The latest available BIOS version is F.30 Rev.A.
Please follow these steps:
- Connect the AC adapter to the notebook.
- Close all running applications.
- Download and install the latest BIOS update from the HP Support page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and allow the system to restart and complete the BIOS update process.
- Do not turn off the notebook or disconnect the power during the update.
After the BIOS update is completed, please check Windows Update again and see if Firmware 15.23.0.0 installs successfully.
If the issue continues after updating the BIOS, please let us know:
- Whether the BIOS update completed successfully.
- Whether the firmware update still stops through Windows Update.
- Any changes in behavior or messages shown during the update process.
Updating from the older BIOS version may help resolve the firmware update communication issue, and we can review the next steps based on the results.
