HP envy x360 13-ag0808no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought this laptop a month ago and I upgraded it with a WDS100T2X0C. So far

live was good but ugly in F.07 rev a, and I decided to try to solve the ugly piece

upgrading the firmware to F.31 rev a. This step rendered the laptop unusable, just

after loading the system it will freeze with not other operation possible. On this way

I decided to try a lower firmware and laptop doesn't accept any former version any

longer, no matter if I try from windows directly, or HP Diags uefi on a usb stick.

On windows side it will simply tell the firmware is older so it's not intended for the

configuration of your laptop. On HP Diags UEFI, I'll need to choose the bios file which

unpacks in 4 files, 2 bins, 2 sigs. If I choose the lowered number bin it will complain

in not having a signature, if I take the greatest, it will tell something similar than

windows.  I tried also the 4-in-1 usb that I see, per firmware it does include a p12 and

p14 file that seems to be missing on my firmwares, but this stick doesn't seem to

have envy x360 support yet.

Any hints how can I do the downgrade is appreciated.

I see that your experiencing issue with bios files,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the exact issue your experiencing issue with the computer?
  • Before bios update was computer functioning normally?

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

It no longer accepts the upgraded component, which worked on F.07a.

Indeed, I worked during 3-4 weeks with some random freeze,
for a full day working(8-10h) perhaps it got a couple of hangs.
During boot, it needed 2-3 times to boot to detect the nvme also,
which I read to be happening for the regular nvme here also. After the
FW upgrade, it systematically hangs before the OS finish to load.

Sorry I just noticed the model of the nvme was wrong, I updated it in the original post, basically

is the wd black nvme 1T.

To get the answer to this question, if you wish you can try it at your own discretion either (Samsung or WD SSD).
HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Well, sorry it doesn't. I want to do a downgrade to make it work again and I

don't see the answer.

So far, WD is already on track of this, it's just unfortunate that HP doesn't want

to help with something like this. It doesn't say much of you.
