Hi @842240

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share your HP unit's serial number or product number with us.

Need help finding your product number? We've got you covered! Check out this handy guide:

To understand the situation fully, I’ll need to gather a few key details:

Basic System Information

  • What is the exact model name and number of your laptop?
  • Is it running Windows, Chrome OS, or another operating system?
  • Was this a new installation (fresh OS install) or a factory recovery/reset?

Installation Context

  • What installation media are you using (USB, DVD, recovery partition)?
  • Which version and build of the operating system are you trying to install?
  • Did the installation begin successfully, or did it fail before starting?

Symptoms and Behavior

  • What exactly happens when you power on the laptop?
  • Do you see any error messages, black screens, or boot loops?
  • Does the system reach the setup screen, or does it crash before that?

BIOS and Boot Configuration

  • Have you accessed the BIOS/UEFI? If so:
    • Is Secure Boot enabled or disabled?
    • Is the boot mode set to UEFI or Legacy?
    • Is the boot order correctly configured?

Hardware Changes

  • Have you recently replaced any hardware (SSD, RAM, motherboard)?
  • Is the battery and power adapter functioning normally?

Once I have these details, I’ll be able to guide you precisely. Let me know what you observe at each stage.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
