My HP laptop Pavilion has not been used for several years. The user name (ID) and password are unknown.

ProductID: 3xv03UA#ABA

Unfortunately I do not  have the startup disc.  I believe MS product Office 365 Personal is installed

Hi @RWB1202

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for the details. If your HP Pavilion x360 laptop hasn’t been used for years and the username or password is unknown, the best option is to reset the laptop to factory settings, which will remove the previous user account and let you start fresh.

Here’s how you can do that even without the password.

Reset HP Pavilion x360 Without Password

Option 1: Use Windows Recovery Mode (No Password Needed)

You can access the built-in recovery environment to reset the laptop:

Step-by-Step:

Turn off the laptop completely.

Press the power button and immediately start pressing the Esc key repeatedly.

The Startup Menu will appear.

Press F11 to select System Recovery.

If F11 doesn’t work, repeat and try holding Shift while clicking "Restart" on the login screen (if accessible).

Once in Recovery Mode:

Choose Troubleshoot.

Select Reset this PC.

Choose Remove everything.

Select:

Cloud download (if connected to the internet and want a fresh install), or

Local reinstall (uses recovery partition).

Follow the prompts to complete the reset.

This will wipe the laptop clean and reinstall Windows 11 without needing the original username or password.

Option 2: Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool (if F11 doesn't work)

If the built-in recovery option is missing or corrupted, you can use HP’s Cloud Recovery Tool:

On another working PC, download:
HP Cloud Recovery Tool

Use a 16GB or larger USB drive.

Create a recovery USB using your:

Model: 14m-cd0003dx

Product ID: 3xv03UA#ABA

Plug the USB into your Pavilion laptop.

Boot the laptop and press Esc, then F9 to choose boot device.

Select the USB and follow on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows.

After Reset:

Windows 11 will be reinstalled.

You’ll create a new account and password.

All previous user data will be permanently erased.

Important Notes:

If the laptop is linked to a Microsoft account, you may be prompted for that during or after reset. If so, let me know and I can guide you through bypassing with offline account setup.

Make sure the laptop is plugged in during reset and has a stable internet connection if you're using cloud recovery.

Let me know if you'd like direct links to download recovery tools or step-by-step USB recovery instructions.
