Hi @Tufhh

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s a tough spot to be in—especially when even the fingerprint option is locked out. But don’t worry, there are still a few ways to regain access to your HP Envy x360 without losing your data:

To regain access to your HP Envy x360 laptop after forgetting the password and PIN, follow these steps:

Method 1: Use Password Reset Disk

  1. Create a Password Reset Disk: If you previously created a password reset disk, insert it into the laptop.
  2. Reset Password:
    • At the login screen, click "Reset Password" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Use Safe Mode

  1. Enter Safe Mode:
    • Restart your laptop and press F8 repeatedly until you see the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
    • Select "Safe Mode".
  2. Reset Password:
    • Log in with the "Administrator" account (usually with no password).
    • Open "Control Panel" > "User Accounts" > "Manage Another Account".
    • Select your account and choose "Change the Password".

Method 3: Use Microsoft Account Recovery

If you are using a Microsoft account to sign in:

  1. Visit Microsoft Account Recovery Page:
    • Go to recover your account.
    • Enter your email address, phone number, or Skype name associated with your Microsoft account.
  2. Follow the On-Screen Instructions:
    • Microsoft will guide you through the password reset process, possibly sending you a verification code.

Method 4: Resetting the Laptop

If the above methods do not work, you may reset the laptop to factory settings:

  1. Access Recovery Options:
    • Power off the laptop completely.
    • Power it on and immediately press F11 repeatedly until you see the "Choose an Option" screen.
  2. Reset PC:
    • Select "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC".
    • Choose whether to keep your files or remove everything.
    • Follow the prompts to reset your laptop.

Regaining Fingerprint Access

Once you have access to your laptop:

  1. Re-enable Fingerprint Sign-In:
    • Go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options".
    • Select "Windows Hello Fingerprint" and set it up again.
