Hi @Tufhh
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That’s a tough spot to be in—especially when even the fingerprint option is locked out. But don’t worry, there are still a few ways to regain access to your HP Envy x360 without losing your data:
To regain access to your HP Envy x360 laptop after forgetting the password and PIN, follow these steps:
Method 1: Use Password Reset Disk
- Create a Password Reset Disk: If you previously created a password reset disk, insert it into the laptop.
- Reset Password:
- At the login screen, click "Reset Password" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Method 2: Use Safe Mode
- Enter Safe Mode:
- Restart your laptop and press F8 repeatedly until you see the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
- Select "Safe Mode".
- Reset Password:
- Log in with the "Administrator" account (usually with no password).
- Open "Control Panel" > "User Accounts" > "Manage Another Account".
- Select your account and choose "Change the Password".
Method 3: Use Microsoft Account Recovery
If you are using a Microsoft account to sign in:
- Visit Microsoft Account Recovery Page:
- Go to recover your account.
- Enter your email address, phone number, or Skype name associated with your Microsoft account.
- Follow the On-Screen Instructions:
- Microsoft will guide you through the password reset process, possibly sending you a verification code.
Method 4: Resetting the Laptop
If the above methods do not work, you may reset the laptop to factory settings:
- Access Recovery Options:
- Power off the laptop completely.
- Power it on and immediately press F11 repeatedly until you see the "Choose an Option" screen.
- Reset PC:
- Select "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC".
- Choose whether to keep your files or remove everything.
- Follow the prompts to reset your laptop.
Regaining Fingerprint Access
Once you have access to your laptop:
- Re-enable Fingerprint Sign-In:
- Go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options".
- Select "Windows Hello Fingerprint" and set it up again.
