For that model and code you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

When asked for the password just hit enter 3 times.

Post any code you receive.

Well I guess I'll have to call them during regular business hours and buy a plan with them. My warranty is expired. Unless anyone knows any other solution.

Alright guys, so check this out. I called HP and they said They could try to reset my BIOS password over the phone for an nonrefundable fee of 59 bucks and that this may not work. If it doesn't work I'll have to replace my motherboard. What do you guys think?

Well I opened the laptop, took the bios battery out, drained all the residual power out of the mother board, put it all back together and it still did not reset the bios password.

I have the same problem,,,any suggestions on my HP 17-G121wm laptop? Need a way to reset bios password. Noticed that F2 displays the system info except for the UUID number. HP says to replace mb but not economically feasible. Tried 10 hrs draining of mb residual voltage with bios battery removed, removed hd thinking it would automatically search and find a usb drive I attached but didn't work.HP Laptop1.jpg
