My notebook laptop works flawlessly when on battery, but it will often BSOD/freeze/restart if it is charging and I am doing anything more intense than web browsing (watching videos/movies, playing very low-intensity games, etc.). The problem also seems to be far less frequent when it is at 100% charge, though nowhere near completely gone. This is also not a heat-related issue (the temperature of all my components typically never even exceed 70C).
I have done Memtest86, CKDSK, and sfc, all of which have found nothing. I have updated my BIOS, checked for updates for all my drivers, uninstalled all AMD drivers and reinstalled them, and it still happens. Sometimes, the AMD Bug Report Tool will appear after a short black screen or freeze, or even sometimes after restarting from a BSOD. I have also tried using a new charger, which had the same results.
I also ran hardware checks, and for Short DST and Long DST, it was marked "WARNING." I have had zero direct problems with my storage device, but it's worth noting in case it could potentially cause these problems. Ideally, I'd like to know if this is a driver problem before I go out and spend money on a new SSD, only for it to not work. I just can't seem to figure out what the source of the problem is and why it's only when charging.
