I'm afraid starting from the top doesn't work either.  I am able to get to the command prompt.  Is there a simple way to delete the partitions using the command prompt?

Thanks - John

It seems you may have to use a free third party partitioning tool.

AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition

You can create a bootable USB drive to use the software.

Make USB boot media

OR

You can purchase HP recovery media.

It might be easier and work better than your USB installation drive.

Obtaining PC Recovery USB Drives or Discs

Thank you for all you help, but none of this seems to work.  The only time I am able to choose the USB Drive is when I insert the Recovery Media Flash or the Windows Installation Flash.  Any other flash inserted the USB Drive doesn't show in order for me to select.

Could this be a BIOS issue?  The first time I power up in the morning I am getting a CMOS Reset 502 error.

Once again, thank you so much for your time.

You're welcome!

Yes, your CMOS Reset 502 error indicates a corrupted BIOS or possibly a failing CMOS battery so you may have multiple issues at work here. The link above provides some steps to resolve the issue.

Good luck.

Once again, thank you for your asssistance.  I've tried so many things to get the little machine back up and running, but nothing seems to work.  Guess I am going to put it aside for now.

Thanks again - John
