I want to fully remove windows from my laptop and load a new OS. Linux Ubuntu. Are there any know issues with doing so? If so, please provide information necessary to complete the task above. If not, let me know that I should have no issues, as long as I don’t do these things ….. <info you provide> ….

Since you have a HP laptop, there might be some issues under linux (fingerprint reader, suspend/resume, webcam, generally no support).
Try with a bootable usb stick first and check if your hardware is working correctly.
Then, to be on the safe side, before formating, better clone the whole drive to an usb-stick or the like (boot live-usb, use dd to create image file, backup). If you didn't start windows that will be around 20GB compressed. That way, you can go back if you need for any reason.
There probably will be issues with updating BIOS without the default partitions (windows efi/recovery) for example, search for linux usb bios update and maybe try that procedure before removing windows.
My spectre x360 16-f2xxx for example works quite OK under linux, especially with wayland/KDE Plasma.
A dedicated linux laptop would have been the better choice for me tho.
