I brought my laptop to Geek Squad and was told my laptop is dead and there was no way to repair it. I have some important files that I’d like to get off of my laptop, but it’s quite pricy for Geek Squads to attempt to get the files since they were unable to do so at Best Buy. They’ve tried to take out the hard drive off of my laptop but couldn’t find any files. So they suggested to send it off to attempts to get the files. And even so, there was a chance they’d still be unable to retrieve the files. What can I do?

Hope no physical damages for HDD. The easy way is to mu the HDD to an enclosure such as

and use it as an external USB drive. You can copy of move your files from old HDD around.
Regards.
