HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-ch1000 IDS Base Model

I had a massive misfire with Microsoft One Drive which caused me to take my laptop in for repair and wipe the OS and entire laptop but before I took it in had chatted with HP and given a case number as they offered to either send me a physical method of reinstallation or follow a link to download.  Now I cannot get in touch with anyone in support but instead chatted with a sales agent who was talking to tech support and was given this info which contains DEAD LINKS!

"To perform a system recovery without creating a recovery CD/DVD, please visit: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418"
05/18/2023 05:15:59PMAgent (Cia): "To create or order a system recovery disk, please visit: www.hp.com/buy/parts"

All I want is correct info on getting to the recovery portion of my SSD.  The repair shop did a clean install of Windows 11 but didn't do what I asked which was to reinstall Windows 11 without setting up under a Microsoft Account.  I am very aware there is a workaround to do this:  https://pureinfotech.com/install-windows-11-home-without-microsoft-account/

but obviously the repair guy didn't know how or just didn't do it.  Now I don't trust him to go back and do another clean install of Windows 11.

Can anyone help me???

Hi @AspenQn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing issues with your HP ENVY 17.3 Inch Laptop PC 17-Ch1000 IDS Base Model

I suggest you follow this document's steps to resolve this issue. (Click on the Word document to open the web page to perform recovery).
there are 3 option
1. Microsoft System Restore
2. Reset this PC (f11)
3. Microsoft Windows Media Creation Tool ( If you want to  download an Operating system make sure you have a new 32GB flash drive to download the OS and do not use this flash drive for any other purpose )

HP PCs - Installing Windows 11 from a USB flash drive  Link   Media Creation Tool

You can refer to the below link for the steps on how to run the Recovery on the computer: link

Recommended Precautions for Running a System Recovery:

•           Back up your personal data (All files in the system will be erased during the system recovery)

•           Only have your power cord, keyboard, mouse, and monitor (in case of desktop) and only power cord (in case of notebooks) attached during the system recovery. (If other devices (printers, cameras, Ethernet cable for internet connection, audio speakers’ cable, and dual display setup) are connected during the system recovery, the system recovery process may stop and fail)

•           The link will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to perform a system recovery on an HP PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
