Hello, I came here from a search engine finding the following linked thread (which is also very relevant to my case), but I feel I should not gravedig said thread. Still an ongoing issue in 2017 for my case:
Let me say that Paul's post there at the time helped me a lot already as is with the basics (I did not know about universal chipset drivers, and I got that solved already. Also my GPU settings are good). I still don't have all the drivers, however. It also appears all of the HP website specific links he posted are now very outdated and just redirect me.
I would still need help getting the following remaining drivers:
HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor
Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter
Ralink Bluetooth PCIe Adapter (possibly Bluetooth Controller)
Network Controller
USB 3.0 (Host Controller and Root Hub)
I should also note that I have tried searching the RealTek website for drivers and one page I found had dead links on their website (I have already attempted to contact them regarding this).
and should I worry about a WebCam driver even though it works?

Hi:
Yes, that is what I was looking for.
You need this driver for the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor hardware version your notebook has...
This package provides the HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection Software (HP 3D Driveguard) for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection Software (HP 3D Driveguard) protects the hard drive by "parking the heads" if the notebook is accidentally dropped, or is abruptly impacted by another object.

Hi:
The AMD chipset drivers should have installed the USB3 controllers.
Wireless:
This package contains the driver installation package for the Ralink wireless LAN Controllers in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71421.exe
Bluetooth:
This package contains the driver installation package for the MediaTek/Ralink Bluetooth in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70501-71000/sp70570.exe
3D Driveguard:
Receives notifications from the integrated accelerometer and automatically parks the hard drive to reduce the risk of damage if the PC is accidentally dropped.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77501-78000/sp77869.exe
Since the generic amd chipset driver didn't install the USB controllers, then the only other suggestion I can offer would be to install both of these drivers and restart the PC.
This package contains the AMD USB 3.0 driver. This package is available on supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61001-61500/sp61462.exe
This package provides the AMD USB Filter Driver, a USB upper-classfilter driver for the AMD chipsets. The AMD USB Filter Driverprovides power management and performance optimizations forsupported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Regarding links to drivers on the support forum...HP discontinued the business PC support site in April of this year.
So any links to drivers from business PC's from April on back no longer work.
HP combined the business PC and consumer PC support sites into one location.

I tried installing the Dropguard driver and get the following error:
" Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action InstallDriver_64, location: C:\...\accelerometer.inf*/installdrv "
I didn't even know about drop protection on laptops (or that they need drivers to work for that matter). Maybe not something to kick down the road.
Apart from that everything else you linked installed perfectly. Thank you for that and for your help from three years ago.

You're very welcome.
Please post the hardware ID for the 3D driveguard device needing the driver.
To find the hardware ID, use this guide...
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
If the ID is HPQ6007, then the driver I posted is the correct one for that hardware version.
Try manually installing the driver by browsing to the driver folder from the device in the device manager.

I found a "HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor" under "System Devices." I tried to update it and it said "The best driver for your device is already installed." Is this really the one you meant? The Hardware ID of said device is "HPQ0004."

Thanks again for all the help Paul! It installed perfectly.
I'm glad I got to talk to the same legend from three years ago around these parts. I think that it's kind of bad how I'm an engineering student and never really had and/or took the time to look at stuff like this more often. I know many others that still detest the use of Windows 8 and Windows 10 today as well.
