Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Operating System does not startup.

Did several Hdd tests with HP Uefi

System test option. Fast dst test was successful, but optimized DST test not successful, showed the following error:

MAKUWM-8RQ9BC-GXGGRF-61W103

PRODUCT-ID: 2FQ05EA#ABD

Component-test also not successful

Do I have to replace the HDD?

For sure i want to save my data, but backup is actually not possible without removing the HDD.

Boot from USB-Stick does also not work.

That usually indicates the hard drive has failed.  Replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows.  Recovery of data may not be possible, but that is what backups are for.

Assuming there are no backups, there are a few tricks to try.  After resolving the hard drive replacement, come back for some of my recommended methods of data recovery.

You can start by getting one of these, or similar

I like that type because it does not require the host to supply power for the drive.

Thanks for your fast and elaborated answer!

Your assumption regarding backups is unfortunately correct. But it's my mother's notebook, I do backups regularly 🙂

Error Code is 3F1, but I guess this is not important anymore. .
