Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased a HP laptop and the HDD failed, making an audible clicking sound this. i searched the forum and ran a disk scan but the scan doesn't work either on a short or long scan - message says 

 

SMART check not available, long DST warning and then when it tries to reboot it says boot device not found please install an operating system on your disk hard disk (3FO)

the system diagnostics isnlt working, looking for some help with this as up to pres the laptop had been working fine.

hey there! it looks like your HDD is dead and any data may be irrecoverable.😞

 

I suggest you get an SSD or HDD of your choice and reinstall windows. you can reinstall it for free anyways

You said you recently purchased this laptop, so is it still under the original 12-month warranty?

 

IF so, HP will replaced a failed drive under warranty.
