My house burned down in the forest fires in Oregon last year and I was away from my laptop for too long it's a compact 6730b with spare key and I can't remember for the life of me with everything I've gone through what those are so there's a drive lock and I need somewhere around that so that I can recover this and get a new laptop to replace it if anyone can help me please I greatly appreciate it I have access to the drive through my master computer but I can't for the life of me figure out where to go to reset or how to reset such a thing I just want to recover the photographs for my business and everything that's in the drive and move on like I'm doing with everything else thank you so much for your help sincerely,

I understand your distress, but I'm having a hard time understanding the details of your issue.
A drive lock, which is what you mentioned, is either a power-on password, which is embedded into the firmware of the BIOS chip on the laptop motherboard, or it is encryption, in which the key is encoded into the drive. In BOTH cases, we have no access to either and in BOTH cases, we are unable to provide any assistance. Sorry.
You would have to take the laptop to a local PC repair facility to see what they can do for you. But in all honesty, I doubt they will be able to help you either -- as these kinds of locks have no routine way of bypassing them.
