HP PAVILION X2 DETACHABLE
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi All, I recently tried to upgrade my daughters laptop to Windows 10.  The update failed to load, possibly due to space so I opted to format and start over. Midway through, installation failed. Now PC wont start.  I have down loaded Win10(32bit, I think) ISO file using Windows Media Creation tool onto USB. I have opened Bios menu and set security to disable and boot start up to USB.  Restart notebook but get error message-USB failed or blank screen or blue screen with error message - PC ran into a problem, KMOODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It just wont load from USB.I have ran all of the diagnostics, no issues, and troubleshoot guide. Nothing works.

Please Help me

Finally this appears to be installing, so thought I would recap incase anyone else has same issue.

1. Download win10 64bit onto USB using Windows Media Creation Tool. Once complete, insert USB into your Notebook

2. Start Notebook continually pressing ESC to enter BIOS Menu.

3. In System Configuration,  set security to disable and set Boot option to USB first.

Press F10, to save and exit.

Restart Notebook if it doesn't start itself.

4. You may be asked to enter a4digit  code, type the 4 digits and press enter, they do not appear on the screen so just do it.

5. Hopefully, now you will see the first glimpse of Windows, Select language etc, Agree to terms and conditions, then selct custom Install.

6. I selected Partition 3 which was the Windows Partition. This was the largest of the drives but still not enough space on the drive,( this was the original problem which started me down this road several months ago. It wouldn't upgrade and I couldn't create any more space on the drive.) Format Partition 3, yeah its scary but trust me, I have been looking at a blank/blue screen for months trying to fix this.

And that is it, I am loading Windows 10 onto my PC and it appears to be working, fingers crossed.

Its just finished getting files ready,(15-20mins) and the screen has gone blank. Not sure if it is doing anything or not and reluctant to press anything.

Sod it, after 5mins of blank screen, Needed to press the power on button again and  it has taken me back to Windows Setup. Now I repeat all of my selection although I haven't formatted the partition again.

It has copied the Windows files and is now Getting files ready for installation (again) Seems to be slower this time???

Will let you know how it goes or if someone can assist great.

Update: I have downloaded Windows 10 64bit onto USB.  Now Windows setup begins, I select install and then I am asked to select type of install.  It wont let me select Upgrade option so I have to select custom install.

Next it askes where I want to install, I have 4 partitions.

Drive 0 Partition 1: System       260Mb          200 MB Free        System

Drive 0 Partition 2:                      128Mb          128 MB Free         MSR (Reserved)

Drive 0 Partition 3: Windows    25GB             6.8GB    Free         Primary

Drive 0 Partition 4: WINRE         737Mb          335 MB Free         Recovery

Going to format Partition 3 as not enough space to continue.
