Stream Pro 11 G3 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Well, I have the HP Stream Pro 11 G3 and I wanted to install Remix OS (Android for PC) (I have installed and used that OS before), but I was having some problems, when I entered to Create and Format Disk Partitions it said something that I couldn't shrink space where unmovable files are so I created my partition only with about 7100 MB and then open the .exe installer but it said that it was to little space so I searched on internet and saw another way to do it so I inserted a USB Drive with Remix OS and changed GRUB commands as the web page said but when I pressed enter it started to delete ALL THE PARTITIONS on the hard drive, well, the eMMC storage (64GB), if someone doesn't know the eMMC it's a memory that is welded to the mainboard so I can't replace it, well I started Ubuntu 18.04 from a USB Drive and I saw some partitions (also appeard on create and format disk partitions from Windows) (In Windows that partitions were called Windows Recovery that was about 960MB, another one without name of 260MB, and other one without name too of 1MB) apparently i should have 5 partitions Windows Recovery, C:, 260MB, 1MB and Remix OS partition, In Ubuntu using GParted I saw only 3 partitions, and some free space (Remix should have deleted Remix OS partition and C:)  that partitions had an ! logo and said it couldn't read the partitions (a reason that GParted gave me it was they could be corrupted :/).

I have a plan of formatting ALL and installing Windows 10 and without any strange partitions or unmovable files I could install normally Remix or Deepin (based on Ubuntu) that is another one i want.

My Question is: What do you recommend me?, should I format ALL or should I see all partitions because ubuntu told me something about one partition that said EFI and I don't want to brake the BIOS or something (I don't understand to much about UEFI, BIOS and EFI only I know that tyçhe BIOS allows you to configure the Computer and to select the device to boot)

My second Question is: If you recommend me to format ALL, I should install Remix or install a normall Linux like Deepin or don't install anything more like Windows 10?

My third Question is: The computer has something that says Pro Windows Academic Use and I had installed Windows 10 Pro Education so where I can find that one as I know the BIOS or the mainboard (I don't know exactly) has the Product Key but for Win10 "PRO EDUCATION" I'm downloading the .iso file form the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft but I don't know if I boot the installer and it allows me to select Pro Education

Note: If I wroter something bad you can tell me because my main language is Spanish and I'm learning English

Thank You for your attention, I hope your answers

Hi, I have not used Remix OS but I have experience installing a dual boot with Windows 10 and Ubuntu on my Stream 11 which I think is similar to yours except it only has a 32 GB eMMC.

If you want to wipe the disk completely clean, you can let the Windows 10 installer delete all partitions, it will not hurt the BIOS and it will recreate the required system partitions such as EFI.

With a fresh install of Windows, you should then be able to go to Windows Disk Management and shrink the C: drive by quite a bit, probably at least 15-20 GB to make room for Remix OS.  I usually shrink C: by 10 GB and then install Ubuntu which detects the Windows installation and configures grub automatically to allow for dual booting.  Hopefully Remix OS works the same way.

Thank you so much I couldn't wait because I was nervous so I didn't saw your answer hopefully I entered Windows Installation an said that it was a GPT style disk or something like that so I searched the web and saw something so I used diskpart and format all disk, now I have Win10 Education but I don't have the produc key so I had to use KMS 😞 my first time using it and I'm not so happy with it I prefer legit and original Windows but what could I do? Thanks to all of this I'm writing to you from the Stream Pro 11 G3 :D, about Remix thanks but I think I will not install anything like that I only consider Deepin that is based on Ubuntu or not installing anything.

Thank you so much you were so much useful have a nice day 😜

If you go to Microsoft and create a generic windows `10 install USB or DVD and boot your machine off it and install windows you do not need the product key because windows will pick it out from the BIOS.   All machines that were produced after about 2016 no longer came with produt key stickers because the key and version number was installed in BIOS.
