Hi @Twax2000,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having trouble with the HID (Human Interface Device) touch screen driver on your HP Pavilion x360. Here are a few steps you can try to fix this issue.
Reinstall HID-Compliant Touch Screen Driver:
- Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
- Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
- Right-click on the HID-compliant touch screen driver and select Uninstall Device.
- Restart your computer, and Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.
Update the Driver Manually:
- In Device Manager, right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software. If Windows doesn't find an update, visit HP's website and search for the driver for your model.
Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter:
- Open Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix issues.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Even though you've tried this, it's worth double-checking that all updates are installed. Sometimes certain updates are required for touch screen functionality.
- Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Check for updates.
Check if the Touch Screen is Disabled in the BIOS:
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS by pressing the required key (usually Esc or F10).
- Look for a setting related to the touch screen and ensure it's enabled.
Restore System:
- If the issue started after a recent change, you might want to use System Restore to revert to a point where the touch screen was working.
- Search for Create a restore point in the Start menu, then under System Properties, click System Restore.
Check Windows Services:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Look for the Windows Mobile Hotspot Service and make sure it's running. Sometimes it can affect touch screen drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
