A routine Windows update made the computer a brick. There was no sign of booting after powering on.
I had to temporarily disable the SSD, boot drive, make the other regular drive as C:, and repartition and format the hard drive. Downloaded Win 11 24H2 iso on another PC and installed it on the Omen. Everything else works very well, but the Omen command centre which I downloaded says it won't run without HP Support Assistant which I have installed several times.
The only thing I want the command centre for is to switch the keyboard backlighting to all red rather than multicoloured.
Every time I start it I get the error message that HP Support Assistant is not found and must be downloaded. It does this even if I start Support Assistant first and have it already running.
Is there a new version of command centre which is compatible with Win 11 24H2?
Or is there another workaround?
Thanks.
Phil
