Hi all. Since I purchased from HP my current Pavilion notebook, I am about to let go my two old HP notebooks (HP 2000-21 OUS and HP G72-B60US). Although I have already erased all files (except for the factory-installed software), I know that there is a way to completely delete the files so that they cannot be recovered. Being myself a lawyer, I must be specially careful with files involving my clients, so I am bound to do everything at hand to keep them private. Can anybody provide any suggestions? Many thanks in advance. Martin Massini

The simplest and secure is to wipe the hard drives with DBan. Free and secure
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/
Then the Windows OS needs to be reinstalled, assuming the plan is to sell or give away. Just re-install Windows from the install media and do not run the new install. It will be like a new computer to whoever gets them.
