I cannot get the BIOS update F8 to run on my HP13-be0xxx; currently on BIOS F6
I followed all instructions, it all works until the HP System BIOS update is supposed to start - it does not.

Newer BIOS is F.09. Please download from the following link and install to your machine

thanks for the quick reply. I used HP PC Hardware Diagnostics software which was already installed on the HP Aero- component tests - bios system firmware - expand and tick bios update and click on run. After a restart the bios was updated. (Downloading the BIOS did not work by the way.)

Hi
I just got a HP Aero 13 and am having trouble updating the BIOS.
If I look in MSINFO32 Its running F.06 - so quite out of date!
I tried downloading and installing the F.09 BIOS normally and the HP_BIOS_Update executable runs but with no UI ever appearing. I can see it in TaskManager for about a minute, then it stops, but no BIOS update occurs, even if I wait for the process to finish and then reboot.
I tried what you mentioned - running HP PC Diagnostics - but when I run this I don't get the options you menton to update BIOS in the Component Tests section???
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Cheers
John

I noticed after posting this that my version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows was out of date (1.7 and latest was 2.0). Oddly all the update checks don't check the utility itself! I downloaded the latest version from HP US and it has a check BIOS right on the front screen. Ran this and it said it the BIOS was out of date and allowed it to be updated from here. It doesn't tell you, but you then need to reboot at which point a BIOS update will fire and take a couple of minutes updating followed by a worryingly long black screen! Anyway, just when you start thinking about pressing the power button it starts back up and everything is updated and perfect. So all happy.
