Dear HP Support,
I have a HP 14-AC015TU notebook in my office, used by a staff in my office.
When the first time I bought it, I installed it with Windows 8.1 64-bit and it worked well. Somehow, due to office policy, I was recently asked to change the operating system back to Windows 7. So I reinstalled it with Windows 7 64-bit, but unfortunately, it appears that the notebook becomes slower in performance (much slower in-fact) compare to when it was still installed with Windows 8.1.
Just like to check, is HP 14-AC015TU notebook actually 100% compatible with Windows 7? Or is it better to install Windows 8.1 on it? Please advice.
Thanks & best regards,
Denny Rahardjo

It may be that Windows 8 had more builtin drivers for the hardware than does Windows 7. Missing/incorrect drivers can cause bad performance. This is, of course, assuming that you used retail Windows disc rather than HP Recovery Media for the install & have not checked your Support page for drivers.

Dear CherylG,
thanks for your reply, I did get & install the drivers from the support page for drivers that you mentoned.
So does it mean, somehow, it's better to use Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 7 on this notebook?

If performance is better on Windows 8 then it would seem yes. Odd actually since Windows 7 is usually faster on most machines that are a couple yrs old-at least in my experiences.
