March 24, 2018, Windows 10 latest update will not install. My HP HP 14 -AN012NR came with a 29 GB internal SSD hard drive as the primary drive. When Windows 10 Update runs it fails saying it requires 8GB more of free primary hard drive space. I have all of my personal data files and applications installed in external USB 3 drives. Windows 10 and the bare minimum Users files (program settings only etc.) is taking about 24 GB. Microsoft Support verified to me that Windows 10 requires from 22 to 25GB of space. Program Data takes about 2 GB on this drive, leaving only 3 GB free on this C drive.
Microsoft support told me my options were to 1) upgrade the HP14 with a larger internal C drive or 2) Buy an new computer with at least a 150GB drive.
Is there an HP upgrade C drive for this model, does it require factory install, and does that include migrating current users profile and settings etc.?
Will HP offer a decent trade-in/up allowance for this model on a HP laptop with at least a 150GB primary drive?
Any other thoughts or are those of us who bought this model just stuck.

In this budget notebook, the bare minimum of 32gb eMMC storage is soldered on to the motherboard and cannot be replaced or upgraded.

But as you see page 32, 33 : you can definitely add any branded 2.5 inch 7mm/9.5mm thick SATA HDD or SSD in it's bay. Western digital, HGST Travelstar are good brands.

You need to buy these 2 parts to keep the HDD connected in the bay:
Hard drive bracket 859126-001
Hard drive connector 815139-001
Cloning the current eMMC partitions on to the new HDD/SSD before upgrading physically, and thereafter formatting the eMMC that came with laptop, would help you directly boot from new 2.5 inch drive OS, like just as you continue working from where you left before.
Create a HP recovery USB before proceeding with anything: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04641788
