I have successfully installed Windows 7, 64 bit on this notebook that shipped with Windows 10. Processor, graphics and wifi are working well, but USB, Card Reader, and ethernet are inactive.
These are listed as "other" devices in DEVICE manager, and have the yellow exclamation point.
Ethernet Controller
PCI Data Aquisition and ...
PCI Encryption/Decry...
USB Controller
Unknown
Unknown
Driver Details shows "no driver installed".
When I try to install the USB3.0 eXents. driver, I correctly get a message "hardware not installed" -- none of the USB ports are USB3.
What would be a wise course of action?

Hi:
According to the specs, the notebook has two usb 3 ports.
Some models have black plactic tabs inside the USB3 ports, but they are normally labeled on the outside with a SS for super speed.

Not sure why the USB 3 driver isn't installing. Try the latest one directly from Intel. Download, unzip and run the setup application.
Try the latest card reader for W7 at the link below...1st driver on the list. Unzip and run the setup application.
If the hardware ID for the remaining Unknown device is ACPI\HPQ6001, then yes, that is the wireless button device (which should not be showing up in W7 as needing a driver).
No driver will work for it, because I have given the W8-W10 wireless button drivers to a few forum members that had the same issue, and they will not install...even trying to manually install the driver doesn't work.

Hi:
See if these W7 drivers work for you...
First install the Intel chipset installation utility and restart the PC.
This package contains the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver for supported notebook models and operating systems. This utility enables the operating system to show the correct name for the installed Intel hardware in the Microsoft Windows Device Manager.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71260.exe
PCI Data Aquisition and ... 1 Unknown
This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71262.exe
PCI Encryption/Decry...
This package provides the Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface (TXE) Driver for the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. The Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface enables the Secure Boot and provides services required for platform security features such as Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PPT).

Ethernet Controller
This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71268.exe
Card reader:
This package contains the driver that enables the Realtek Card Reader in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The card reader enables users to read from or write to supported removable storage cards, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players, and cellular phones.

If you still have devices remaining that need drivers after you install the above, please post the hardware ID's for any of the remaining devices that need drivers.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

Have made wonderful progress, but am still struggling with the USB Controller. Device Driver screen still shows USB Controller with a yellow exclamation point.
The USB driver SP72662 references USB 3.0. This laptop has no USB3 ports (all 3 are black colored). Windows Update can't find a driver for it.
While the card reader is no longer showing up with an error, it is not working.
Seems like an I/O function problem in Chipset?
I was getting 2 unknow devices, now only one. The detection procedure you sent helps me see that it relates to HP Wireless Button Driver, and relates to SP58720 which reports "Operating system not adequate .....". I'm guessing it doesn't like Windows 7?
If I could get USB working, I can live with a few crippled features. Any additional ideas?
Thanks for your help.
