When I tried to turn on my HP notebook yesterday, the screen was blue/black.
I followed HP virtual helper's suggestion and did a diagnostic systen fast test.
It showed harddrive/SSD short DST check failed.
Failure ID: M4XC5Q-94UA65-MFGJ2J-60XS03 and PROCUDT ID: 3TT03UA#ABA
harddrive/SSD 1- primaryHDD Bay*, Model: HGST HTS541010B7E610, serial # [Personal Information Removed]
I started system startup repair. The screen is stuck at: Repairing disk error. Thish might take over an hour to complete.
I want to know if I have to replace the harddrive of the notebook. I bought the note in 6/2018 from Costco. Is it still under warranty?

Welcome to the HP support community.
This seems to be an issue with the hard disk.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
- Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Dear Sandytechy20, Thank you for your reply. I went to the link that you provided. After I put in US as the country of origin and serial number, I was directed to another page. However, I could not find " show options" in that page, so I could not fill out the web form and generate a case number. It only shows: "how can we help you" with "HP Support Community " or "HP Service Center Locator". I wonder if I am in the right web page?
