I have an HP 2000 Notebook and I'm trying to get windows 7 reinstalled. My computer currently has Linnux on it and its horrible. My friend installed the program while borrowing my laptop without my permission. Windows 7 was originally preinstalled on this laptop by the manufacturer, but if possible, I would like to go ahead and update to windows 8.

Hi:
I'm assuming your notebook originally came from HP with W7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Here is the link to the W7 Home Premium English 64 bit ISO file download.
The link will be good for 24 hours from the time I post this reply.
I have also zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility you can use to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive or DVD so that it is bootable.
Then you can install the drivers and software from your notebook's support page.
After you install W7, now that you will have a way to reinstall W7 anytime you want, you may want to experiment with upgrading to W10 from W7.
It seems that you can still get the free upgrade to W10, even though it officially ended quite some time ago...
