What happened to the software for this computer? Used to be we could let the support engine pick the device and then go to software downloads for the particular PC. Your engine recognizes the de but this functionality for this device seems to have been wiped from the HP site.... WHY?

Can we please restore the software restoration/download functionality for this PC please?
No reason to have removed it! Penny wise and pound foolish decision...

Hi:

This is a peer-to-peer forum.

We do not work for or represent HP.

I checked the support site and you are correct.

It has been taken down.

If that happened that means the PC has reached the 10-year support limit that HP has (which I completely disagree with).

At that point the support pages are retired.

This reputable 3rd party website has the drivers you need for your PC:

@Paul T,

Thank you Paul....

I agree wholeheartedly that HP should not remove the functionality to restore drivers for these older PC's.

Case in point... The HP 2000-bf69WM  laptop I am restoring functions well & has useful  purpose with an older scanner and printer;  both scanner & printer work just fine. Why would I throw out gear that work? ....and why would I throw out a PC that serves a purpose?

HP Team...

It is fair to request that you reconsider the policy of retiring functionality that really doesn't cost you a lot to keep so, please un-retire and restore the ability of end users to do maintenance on these older PC's. As I said earlier, retiring this functionality is "penny wise but pound foolish", you've already made the investment and continuing this capability is just good customer service that will be good for HP's reputation and brand!

You're very welcome.

I agree 100%.

For example:

Dell provides full driver support for Windows PC's going back into the 1990's.

There are hobbyists that have legacy systems that enjoy running them for the fun of it.

From time to time, we get folks asking for drivers for very old systems, and we can't help them unless we can find a 3rd party driver site that has drivers.

Very frustrating.
