Hello all,
I have HP 250 G5 with Celeron N3060, 8 GB DDR3 and 1TB HDD without SSD (product W4M62EA#BED ) on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (64-bit) and when I want to use couple applications simultaneously (for example record Teams meetings or something like that) I stuck with 100% CPU usage. Actually I got 100% CPU usage very often no matter what I'm doing, but when doing some more demanding operations I get "not responding" window with 100% CPU usage and Windows hangs until I terminate processes via Task manager. I have done all the optimization and tuning of Windows 10 that could be done - removed all unnecessary startup applications, removed all unnecessary windows services, disk defragmation, Microsoft defender optimization etc... After all these operations I guess that my Celeron N3060 is too weak for Windows 10 demands...
When I first bought laptop I've installed Windows 7 Professional SP1 (64-bit) and didn't have any problems with 100% CPU usage. But I had issue with integrated Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3165 adapter. I had installed official Windows 7 drivers for this adapter from HP site but wireless adapter didn't work properly - no network access constantly. After installed clean Windows 10 OS and AC 3165 drivers for Windows 10 I didn't have anymore network access problems.
My question is are there any other official or any other Windows 7 drivers with which the AC 3164 adapter will work properly on Windows 7 OS? Also if you have suggestion to try any other OS which won't stuck with 100% CPU usage I would like to hear.
P.S. I know Windows 7 is out of date and Microsoft support, but I don't have problem with that because I don't use any of applications that need the newest OS.

Your machine ONLY has Intel Celeron N3060 processor. You can NOT do much with that very weak processor that why it ALWAYS runs at 100%. If you wish to do real work, buy a better machine.
Regards.

I know the main issue about my laptop is too weak Celeron N3060 CPU. Any reasonable upgrade isn't possible with it's mainboard and no significantly a better mainboard with faster CPU couldn't be installed in this laptop. Also it's not worth to sell it and at the moment I don't want to spend extra money for new laptop. Eventually I would install SSD instead of DVD-RW drive and with OS other than Windows 10 hope to get better performances. Is it worth to try with Windows 7?
