FreeDOS

Hello,

I would like to boot from a Windows USB pen in order to install Windows on a brand new 250 G9.

Strange bios setup: there is NO Legacy - UEFI under "Security", just TPM States and devices.

Under "Boot Options" I only see a grayed out disables Secure Boot, and I can only change the order of UEFI peripherals: i set USB flash and CD DVD on top of OS Boot Manager, not to avail.

After rebooting, I only see the HDD with the FreeDos - no USB keys whatsoever (I tried 5 different USB pens with bootable OS which work just fine  on other machines).

How do I enable USB booting on this awful machine?

thanks

Hi:

See if this works:

Have the USB flash drive plugged into a USB port.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the flash drive.
