Hello everyone!
I have the HP 255 G7 laptop which oficially supports only Windows 10 20h2. The newest available drivers are for Windows 10 20h2. But now Windows update offers to install version 22h2 on my laptop. Is it a good idea to proceed with this update or the risk to destroy my OS is too high? I really don't want to reinstall my OS right now if things go bad, I'm busy with some things. Is Microsoft acting silly again or is HP slow to update their support website?
I don't know if someone else owns this laptop model. If you own it do you use Windows 10 22h2? Do you have any serious problems with 22h2 on the HP 255 G7?

Hi @expert-bg }
HP does not update the drivers for all models to the latest versions of Windows. Many of the old drivers are compatible with the new versions, and if you need a new driver, it will be sent by Windows Update.

Thanks resistencia this sounds good, so maybe I can try it later.
Now it looks like I have another problem-my UEFI version F.31 is too old for Windows 10 22h2. And when I make attempts to update the UEFI firmware it does not update at all. I found this information in the release notes about UEFI updates-it looks like some Windows 10 updates are demanding a UEFI update. Very strange situation because all older UEFI updates installed without any major problem on this laptop.
I was able to update the UEFI after some serious trouble. I don't want to try this exercise again, it was hard because my UEFI diagnostics was damaged. Why the UEFI updater is not included on the chip containing the laptop's firmware, such a bad idea!

Not all processors of this model are compatible with Windows 11. If you are looking to upgrade to Windows 11, that is not possible with that processor.
For the BIOS, try older versions first.
