I purchased an HP 255 G8 through the IT course I'm currently taking. The Laptop OS was botched straight out of the box, and wouldn't boot or would crash immediately after. SO I decided to clean install Windows after exhausting all attempts to recover the OS. Ok, perfect, except I now have Windows 10 Home, instead of Windows 10 Pro that I paid for that was installed initially by HP. How do I get my Windows 10 pro back?

Hi:
Since this is a peer-to-peer forum and we don't work for or represent HP, the only suggestion I can offer would be to contact HP support for assistance.

Since you ended up with W10 Home, that means that there is a W10 Home product key in the BIOS, and you can confirm that by installing the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store.

If you were not provided a W10 Pro product key from HP, use the instructions: If you don't have a Windows 10 Pro product key
