Have recently installed 'Tiny10' on my old HP 620 laptop to see if it could resurrect the old girl. (It did!) But after activating the system via Microsoft graphics drivers are needed.

Have searched and searched and I know this an oddball request,  but are there some drivers somewhere that may be suitable?

Could not see a laptop section here but this seemed the nearest.

Cheers - Noddy

You're very welcome.

We'll assume the notebook has the onboard Intel graphics as most of the HP 620's came with.

Try manually installing the W7 graphics driver for the Intel HD graphics:

Download and save but do not run the W7 Intel graphics driver.

Driver - HP 620 Notebook PC | HP® Customer Support

Download and install this free file utility.

The first file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

7-Zip

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the Intel graphics driver file you downloaded.

Select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp48038).

After that is done, go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Microsoft Basic Display adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.

Make sure that the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

If not, click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed in the device manager and post the hardware ID for it so I can make sure that your notebook does not have the AMD graphics adapter.

Hi:

Does your notebook have the AMD graphics adapter or the onboard Intel graphics adapter?

Did you install the 32 or 64 bit version?

Hi and thanks for posting.

There is an intel  Contiga chipset s model 1526 with a version number of KBC 71OD.

Chip type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family.

I have a DXDIAG file but can't see where to upload it here.

Confusing here as there is no laptop section - which is what I have.  Just need a better driver than the Windows basic one for the graphics. Only installed the Tiny 10 software for a 'look see'.

Brilliant job Paul and the graphics are working a treat with the drivers that you linked me to.

Now the HP620 is once again a working proposition with your drivers and  the 'Tiny 10' operating system.

Very pleased and grateful - thank you. 😀
