Dear HP Community,
Like we know fan is controled by ACPI in HP 625 Notebook. I have issue with fan speed in all current kernel version of linux. I tried 4.4, 5.3, 5.4, 5.11 and of it all issue is there.
Fan speed have this same constantly speed. This doesn't speed up if I will load my CPU to 100% so my notebook is overheating. This is not problem related only to 625 model. A lot of HP notebooks are affected by this issue. You can read this: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71711
Probably problem started at 3.13 kernel and this was not fixed to today.
HP engineers can you help upstream kernel maintainers to fix this problem? I hope that you can do it.
P. S. My current BIOS is F. 02 and my notebook come it with SUSE LINUX so this should work with Linux kernel but in real it doesn't work anymore.
Thanks.
