Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I am having problems updating from Windows8 to Windows 10 OS system. When I try and download the media creation tool it gives me the error code 0x80072F8F-0x20000. When I try to update it says to check with the system publisher. I need to know if my computer is compatible with Windows 10.

The PC I'm using is The HP Pavilion 23 AIO AMD E2-1800 APV with Radeon HD graphics 1.70 GHz

Please help me in upgrading my OS system and if it is even Compatible.

Hi:

If you can't use the media creation tool on a PC with W10/W11 to create the installation media with, you will need to make a couple of changes in the Windows registry to get the tool to work on W7/W8.1.   Some kind of security thing.

Media Creation Tool Error 0x80072F8F - 0x20000 in Windows 7/8 » Winhelponline

In order to do an in-place upgrade from W8.1>W10 after you make the bootable USB W10 installation flash drive, have your AIO PC running and at the Windows desktop.

Plug the flash drive in a USB port and open the flash drive using file explorer.

You will see a list of files.

Click on the Setup application on that list of files to do an in-place upgrade to W10.
